The Original VSE
The Original VSE was founded as a Quake 2 Capture The Flag clan, 31th August 1998
by Gopher, Fluffy, Bambi and Fido. They came up with the genious clan name, and
recruited two more members - Pink and Imperator. By the end of 1998 some of VSE
dreamed of something more; they wanted a extremely strong Norwegian team to rule
the CTF scene like Memento Mori (Norwegian Quake 2 deathmatch legends) ruled deathmatch.
We therefore tried to hunt down some of the finest players around. The result was that
c3:Instant, c3:Bulldog and [MM]DarK joined. After nagging him for ages SAM, one of the
TnX server administrators joined us. Around easter Bead and Vead, left the legendary
Finnish clan CFC for us. Later StarC joined, also a TnX administrator. Finally
[MM]Motorsagfaen joined our ranks - also the author of the now well known VSE timer.
On the 21st of November 1999 VSE withdrew from the Q2CTF scene.
K13
K13 was a q2ctf clan which was started 28th February 1999 by Gondorr and Duffy.
Some of the first players we drafted were Booth, Badat and Zector. After meeting
Darklord, [CFC]PriNcY and [CFC]Soul at The Gathering, they joined us. The summer
1999 we went to the Triad 2 lan in Stockholm, this was to become K13s breakthrough,
and we got a 3rd place shared with CkNd. K13 started with Quake 3 Arena teamplay
right away when q3 came out and Ventrue joined us. We got invited to Eurocup 1 as
the second best Norwegian clan (MM first) and ended 3rd in our group.
Original VSE and K13 merges
In the beginning of may 2000 VSE finally awoke when K13 merged with the original VSE.
Since Memento Mori had quit q3 dark decided to play q3 with us. Shortly after a guy
we had known for some time, Spazzy joined us. Our first tournament was the Xtreme
Quake League which consisted of clans like Ice Climbers, Evolution, 7th, CA, Dunno,
Prime and Desolation. We went undefeated to the winners brakcet final when we met ic.
We got invited to Eurocup 2 after the summer, where we managed to beat last season winners AM.
We got 3rd in our group after Allstars and Swedish Chefs and met e9 in the first playoffs which we lost.
VSE gets an Unreal Tournament section
In the beginning of November 2000 we got to know Oculus, one of Norways best
UT players and we had a goal of making a Norwegian multigamingclan like Germans
had already done with SK, Ocrana and mTw. He gathered some of the best Norwegian
UT players and started a brand new team - the VSE-ut section.
X-Pec becomes VSE
15th February 2001 maybe the best Norwegian cs clan became VSE-cs,
and we had then reached our goal by having a q3, ut and cs squad.
X-Pec was founded the 21st of December 1998 in Arendal, Norway.
The founding fathers were Xenophobe, Pibbz, e114 (pre elemento) and Coldcut.
The name was decided by putting together the first letter in these players nicknames.
We were in need of one more member, and decided to recruit CLX. We took up the
following 6 new members the summer 2000: Toa, ecl1pse, Evil_R, eL-Lobo, magnifier
and skr01k, and signed up to the ClanBase league system.
The cs section of VSE does not exist today. The section died, but it's
funny to see that X-Pec have started playing q3.
VSE today
Most of VSE-q3 members live in Oslo and we often lan our matches from spzs apartment.
This has made it possible to do In Real Life activities, so we're not just clan members,
but also friends.
